Club Background

The purpose of the Guild is to encourage and advance the interest, knowledge, and performance of woodcarvng and its closely allied forms of artistic expression with wood. It is our purpose to serve the beginner as well as the advanced wood carver. We offer the opportunity for you to meet other carvers and mutually share knowledge and experience.
 
               

History of Our Club:
March 20, 1990 - we formed the Hudson Valley Woodcarvers.
November of 1990 - we found out that tha name was already used and registered by a club in Hyde Park.
January 16, 1991 - changed our name to Mid Hudson Wood Carvers.
January 8, 1992 - add Guild to the name. We are now known as the
Mid Hudson Wood Carvers Guild (MHWCG).
 
Initially, meetings were held on the 3rd Wednesday of the month.
March 20, 1991 - changed meeting t 1st Wednesday effective
April 3, 1991.
 

MHWCG was incorporated as a non profit organization on September 11, 1995.
